Constellium has expanded its recent agreement with Morf3D Inc to provide an additional proprietary Additive Manufacturing (AM) powder solution, Aheadd® HT1, for the qualification and development of applications. The two companies celebrated the milestone on Constellium's booth at Formnext this week, where our Alireza Arbab (left) and Morf3D's Behrang Poorganji reviewed samples made from the Aheadd® alloy powders. Morf3D Inc, a trusted leader in metal additive manufacturing, specializes in solutions for the aviation, space, and defense industries.
Aheadd® HT1 is specifically designed for laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) applications which require high strength and service temperatures up to around 260°C/500°F. The high thermal stability of Aheadd® HT1 makes it an ideal choice to replace 2xxx aluminium-copper high temperature alloys, as well as bringing possibilities for new designs leveraging the high thermal conductivity and low density of aluminium for service conditions usually requiring titanium or steel.
